After a brief visit with my friend Char (aka Chadrika) and her man "Chip" -- both over from Hawaii for the Krishna festival, we zoomed down to the Tower district in Fresno for some Italian chow.

Our host was none too happy when we asked her for directions to the Krishna event. Once she found out where we were going, she upped the price on my Coke to $3.75.

My shifter packed it in. Replacing it meant upgrading from 8-speed to 9-speed....which forced an upgrade of the whole drivetrain. Fortunately, we were able to get all this done at a super shop that let us get on the road by 12.30.
